He's Here!

Jarom Hyrum Brown was born Monday November 19th at 1:39 PM, weighing in at 7 lbs 2 oz, 20 inches long. He looks a lot like Kaden to us but has a very different personality. We are so in love with him and adjusting to life as a family of 4. Here are some pictures of the cutie and the longer story is below.
(By Jimmy) Amy checked in at 7am, and right away the morning started off a little fun! They couldn't find her vein for the I.V. and she got pretty sick while they poked at her :) After two hours they got it going and things went much smoother from there! Her contractions and dilation progressed very fast, they actually tried slowing it down for awhile because the baby's heart rate started to dramatically dip during contraction. They theorized that the cord was somehow impeded so they repositioned Amy and did an Amniotic infusion. That did the trick, baby's heart rate stabilized for the rest of the delivery, though he was still sunny side up! However right about when Amy got to a 10 and the contractions where on top of each other he decided he wanted to come out in a much more comfortable position so he turned himself around! 30 minutes later the doc came in, and after only 7 minutes of pushing cute little Jarom Hyrum Brown announced himself at 1:39 pm with with a strong set of vocal cords and a thick black mop of hair! He's 7 pounds and 2 ounces, and 20 inches long, healthy little baby. We are so excited to actually have him in our room this time around, and not whisked away to the NICU like Kaden was! He's a happy and often quiet little guy, he's looks a lot like Kaden, with some distinct differences in individual features. We are very happy to have this new little one in our home and happy the delivery went so smoothly. Amy is feeling well, and spending as much time as possible cuddling with little jer-bee (that's Kaden's nickname for him). -Jim, Amy, Kaden, and Jarom

Quick Update

I realized the other day that I have more fun looking at everyone else's blogs and not updating mine.  Since the last post announcing the baby's gender we've done a bunch.

I colored my hair dark and love it!

We had a 2 1/2 week long trip, putting 4,000 miles on our car to my family reunion.  It was very fun but also very exhausting traveling 4,000 miles with a 2 year old and pregnant lady.  It was great to see family we haven't seen in years.  Kaden met some cousins, aunts and uncles for the first time!

Went camping (kinda, cause we left in the middle of the night due to animal noises close to our campsite and our screaming kid)

Played out the last couple days of summer at the splash pad.

Kaden started potty training and turned 2.

I started school again.  With baby coming I'll be having a nice long break soon for maternity leave during the holidays.  We took some family pictures that we'll re-do when baby comes.

We enjoyed an afternoon at the aquarium again.

Had a blast celebrating Halloween!

And played a ton with this cute 2 year old.

We have about 2 1/2 weeks till baby comes, so we are getting organized at home prepping for the debut.  Someday I'll get some rest!

Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween!!! I realized I could only pull off these costumes this year with the baby skeleton in my belly. Jimmy had a burger and fries in his, and Kaden had candy and suckers in his. We had a blast carving pumpkins and getting ready for Halloween. Kaden did a great job trick or treating and saying thanks and Happy Halloween! And this is a pregnancy shot at 36 weeks. We can't wait for baby to come!!

It's a...

BOY!
We had our ultrasound a couple of weeks ago. Baby is measuring spot on in the 50th %ile is head down and ready to go, just like his older brother was at this time. He had all the parts he needed functioning like normal so we are grateful for that. The little stinker kept his legs closed just like Kaden as well but we knew to turn on my side sooner than later to get a peek. And he was nuzzled in his mama so we didn't get a good profile. Oh well, next time :) I haven't uploaded the pics from the ultrasound yet, but as soon as I do I'll post them. I've been doing good. Feeling the heat of summer and staying inside during the hot times of the day. I'm enjoying my last couple of weeks till summer ends and I'm back to school. We're getting excited for this little one to come. Kaden will point to my belly and say, "baby, See?" Then he'll lift my shirt and put his mouth up to his brother and say "hi baby!" or "Night Night baby" It's cute! He's loving any little baby that he sees and gives hugs to little babies at the splash pad and church or at the park. I think that he'll be a great big brother.

So if you didn't know...

I haven't been blogging very much later because...we are expecting kiddo #2 November 25th 2012! I'm 16 weeks now, mostly not sick any more, and anxiously waiting to find out if we are having a girl or a boy! We don't care either way but having another boy has some perks. We already have the clothes, Kaden would have a brother close. If it's a girl, we'd be pretty excited too for all the fun frilly stuff! I was pretty sick with this pregnancy compared to Kaden's. I've been sick from week 4 and it lasted till now. (Kaden was only from week 9-16 and it was hardly anything.) I've lost 15 lbs (with Kaden it was 20) don't worry I gained it back with Kaden :) We've had a couple ultrasounds to make sure everything was good to go, considering my last miscarriage in September. And after a couple pictures and hearing heartbeats all is well! Kaden has been really cute pointing to my belly, saying baby, and putting his mouth up to it to say "Hi baby!" Just like daddy does. It's been fun! I'm looking forward to another little one and growing our family. I'll keep you updated more often and send some more pictures your way when I actually look pregnant and get more baby pics from the ultra sound.

18 Months!

Holy cow my little boy is getting big! It's hard to believe it's been that long since we brought him home from the NICU. He is learning, exploring, and loving life. We went to the doctors yesterday and he was measuring 75th%lie in height at 33 1/2 inches. He was at 50th %ile for weight at 26 pounds and 65 %ile on head circumference at 19 inches. It's hard to believe that little head was only in the 4th %ile when he was born.

He's still eating like a champ, and eats everything. He even pops in the brussel sprouts like it's popcorn and usually eats as much as us. He still loves his fruit, he was chomping down on a melon the other day and begged for more. He loves popcorn and will double fist it to eat it as fast as possible. And he knows right where the candy bowl is for his favorite suckers as well!

He is talking more and more every day! Besides his jibberish sentences (that are adorable!)I wish we knew what he was saying. He is sayinga bout 30-50 words, I've lost count... but they include:
car, light, keys, bike, baba, juice, cracker, cookie, yes, no, up, doggie, molly, woof woof, mama, dada, slide, this, that, what's this?, hot dog, airplane, bath, uh oh, ball, mickey mouse, moon, star, rock, etc...

He runs and jumps, is learning to pedal his trike, but also loves his Lightning McQueen car. When ever I get home from work, he gives me a hug and says "car? car?" cause he loves to play with all of the buttons and levers. He's been a little overconfident going down the stairs, and has had a few tumbles, but scoots on his butt, or slides with his feet, or tries to take them 2 at a time. What a nut. He's been making funny faces lately as well that are so cute!!

He likes helping mom with chores and when the wipes come out for a diaper change he'll keep one and start wiping the couch, wall, floor, or crib down. He'll help take out and put dishes in the dishwasher. He still chases me when I vacuum so we got out our little vacuum and he vacuums right along with me. Let's hope these habits stick!

He's going to nursery now which is great and Jimmy and I can go to our church classes. He usually has a really fun time but sometimes he's still pretty clingy and hangs out with mom and dad in church.

His latest fun thing to do is swim! I guess it's not a latest but we've gone to the Lehi Legacy Center a lot more often and he sprints right out to the water and tries to dive in. He hates his floatie because he wants to swim like everyone else so we practice and he kicks his legs and moves his arms. It's really cute! We're going to work on swimming a lot! My mom always said to get your kids swimming early so you don't have to worry and I agree with her wholeheartedly and hope to do the same with my kids. I don't think I can ever stop talking about my kid. We sure love him and love seeing him grow up and are looking forward to seeing everything he accomplishes. We love you Kaders!!

Ketchup!

It has been a while since we've blogged, and I think that it's been too long! So starting from where we left off!

We celebrated my birthday! 26! I don't feel 26 so I must be getting too old! Although Jimmy always reminds me how young I am. (He is 8 years older than me.) We had cake and presents with some family. It was a fun night and I got some really nice presents. Thank you babe!

Shortly after my birthday was Thanksgiving. We had a very fun and low key Thanksgiving. We hosted and had my brothers and my nephew. Lots of fun and food. Who knew a college freshman could eat a whole pumpkin pie! (a heads up would have been nice Michelle! ;))

Our nephew was blessed the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It was so fun to see family and this cute little boy! Kaden loves having more boy cousins!

Kaden has always loved the vacuum, and he especially liked this one because his cousin was letting him ride on it! He screamed when we took him off he was having so much fun!

More updates coming soon!
